The Challenge<\/p>\n
After reviewing the professional development needs of municipal managers and elected officials across Nova Scotia, AMANS identified a need for leadership development for municipalities. They asked us to develop training workshops that provide the skills needed for effective municipal governance and administration.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Rebecca Macaulay, Former Director, Human Resources<\/span> The Process<\/p>\n We researched, designed and developed five skills-based two-day workshops, creating the facilitator guides and participant manuals for each workshop. The workshops covered transferable skills (e.g., team-building, facilitation, change management and communication) and technical skills (e.g., how to read financial statements, how to prepare a municipal budget).<\/p>\n The workshops feature case studies that enable municipal managers and elected officials to explore issues they encounter in their roles.
